One of the comments received on my "Never Never Land" post was that the commenter at first thought it might be the island world that is being built in Dubai. It's not. Here's a picture of what they're calling "The World" islands.

Talk about a place out of touch with reality.
But it does give whole new meaning to that old song,
We Are The World, doesn't it? If you recall, the whole point of that song, produced by Michael Jackson, was to raise money to help needy children in the Third World. The irony is thick here. Jackson, of course, recently lost his "Neverland" ranch when he had to sell the debt to avoid foreclosure proceedings. And if you think THAT'S ironic, consider this: Jackson now lives in Dubai.
We are the world, indeed.
The good news? I recently heard a report that those islands are already sinking.
