Reading about
a wildfire just outside Yosemite National Park coincided with my coming upon this painting of a Yosemite sunrise by one of America’s most famous landscape artists,
Albert Bierstadt. Clicking on the first link will bring you to an image that is eerily similar to the painting. Try to imagine that this fire was supposedly started by someone's carelessness during "target practice." I just can't stop thinking about that. But for now, let’s enjoy the ethereal quality of Bierstadt’s work and the uncanny way he captured first light.
In this space and time
You touch my soul
I can’t escape your love for me
So you take control
Your spirit surrounds me
Close enough to catch me when I fall
I can’t escape your love for me
Surrender all
You’ve risen like the sun
Darkness fades with the dawn
You are the radiant one
You give me the light ....
Your love is in my heart tonight ....
